This is what renewal looks like. Denise’s journey has not been an easy one: drugs, abuse, homelessness... these experiences are all too normal for many on the streets, especially for women. But we know that the light of a single flame cannot be consumed in the darkness. There is hope, healing, and beauty that transforms and renews us when we take the first step and allow ourselves to be led.
This is the before and after of Denise’s tattoo transformation. Before taking steps to entering rehab she wanted to cover her 666 tattoo from her past life with a Tree of Life design. I’m so grateful for the friendship that sprung out of my initial encounter with Br. Francisco reaching out to me about meeting Denise and drawing her portrait back in March, and the tattoo designing day that followed. Two weeks ago she entered Comunitá Cenacolo, a beautiful Catholic rehabilitation community in Florida. Please keep Denise in your prayers.
