A few days ago we celebrated Maria’s birthday at Gift of Love house (a shelter for elderly women run by the Missionaries of Charity in Greenwich Village) and my friend Claire Kretzschmar came to help us celebrate with some ballet. It has certainly been a season of pain and joy for the community, as one of the long-time residents passed away last week after a long battle with cancer. Thank you for bringing the joy of dance to the ladies and sisters at Gift of Love house, Claire!
Claire has been a member of the New York City Ballet for 10 years and is currently a soloist with the company. Claire and I met at the Theology of the Body Institute in 2019 during the Way of Beauty class and have been friends ever since. This past summer we came together to create Arthouse 2B, a growing collective of artists in the Catholic community in New York City that fosters hospitality and offers cultural events to uplift artists and art-lovers in our area.
